The Ivorian forward recounts the excitement of meeting the legendary French winger when he temporarily joined La Viola
Ribery was a summer signing from Bayern Munich and has gone on to make 11 appearances, scoring two goals and providing another two assists.
The 22-year-old Kouame, though, is yet to make his debut for La Viola due to a crucial ligament injury which has kept him sidelined while still playing for his parent club.
“Once I was walking through the centre of Florence with my girlfriend who told me that she would like to live there one day,” Kouame said as reported by Tuttomercato.
“And you see fate, after a month I was a Fiorentina player.
“When I entered the sports centre I was ecstatic. Then I saw Ribery and I said to him: “It is an honour to play with you, I still don’t believe it.”
Kouame, who last tasted action on November 3, 2019, says he is still recovering from his injury.
“I am continuing with my rehabilitation path also in my home,” he concluded.
